Please help spread the word & let Ed Schafer, Interim President of the University of North Dakota know that closing the music therapy program would have very negative implications not only for those in ND, but throughout the country. We are proud, honored, & lucky to have Brianna Larsen, a UND graduate, working for Living Spirit Therapy Services! UND has been a leader in research & trained many music therapists that improve the quality of life of children, adults, & elders here in MN.
ND was the first state in the country to license music therapy. If the state government of ND values the impact, skills required, & importance of music therapy enough to require licensure of those who practice it, those responsible for making the decision to suspend the program should reverse their decision & reinstate the program.
The demand for music therapists in our area is higher than the number of therapists to meet them. If any changes to the program were to be made, efforts should be to increase & improve capacities of the UND music therapy program.
Help spread the word! #StandUp4MT & #SaveUNDMT!
