Adaptive Beginning Guitar, Piano, and Ukelele Lessons
Has your loved one or client always wanted to learn to play guitar, piano, ukelele, recorder, basic percussion, violin or to learn to sing? Don’t let disabilities hold them back! At Living Spirit Therapy Services, LLC we understand that learning is a process for many and are able to adapt to a pace and style of instruction that is success oriented and comfortable for them. Let us help them discover their strengths and explore the joys of playing an instrument!
What Makes Adaptive Music Lessons Different From Regular Music Lessons or Music Therapy?
As board certified music therapists (MT-BC) with advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy®, all of our providers understand the wide variety of special needs individuals with disabilities face and have a wide variety of tools and skills to adapt lessons to be success oriented and individualized.
In music therapy sessions we provide rigorous data collection and documentation and work towards very specific goals and measurable objectives that the clients, care providers, and therapist create together. While we work together with the client to set goals in adaptive lessons, documentation is not a rigorous and we don’t work and the smaller scale towards measurable objectives.
Adaptive lessons can be held in person throughout the Twin Cities Metro area or virtually via HIPAA compliant Zoom
- Virtual lessons require an iPad, computer, or another device with cell or internet connectivity.
- We use a HIPAA compliant version of Zoom for our virtual camps. You will need to download Zoom (the free version is fine) and create an account before lessons begin. We have a step by step visual guide available to guide you through this process if needed.
